Auckland’s newest restaurant isn’t easy to find, tucked up an unassuming stairwell on lower Wyndham St. It’s owned by chefs Kyle Street and Jordan Macdonald, who met working at one of Auckland’s best-loved restaurants.

Kyle and Jordan call their style “new American” – but it really defies categorisation. Think of it as experimental food with a focus on all that’s fresh, local, delicious and accessible, all filtered through the whims of the chefs on any given day.

Culprit is a rule breaker of a restaurant. Small shared plates are served in the style of yum-cha, made fresh and rolled out on trolleys and trays to diners who can choose by sight, smell or price tag. Larger plates are intended for sharing and change regularly.

The floor is run by Nick Gallagher, Metro’s 2016 Personality of the Year, which means you can expect a high energy, fun time, an approachable and well-thought-out drinks list, and probably a new friend by the end of the night.

Tickets are $75 and include a glass of Champagne Collet on arrival, entrees, mains, dessert and Antipodes Sparkling or Still to wash it all down.

Additional drinks can be purchased on the night.
Please be aware there are two sessions for each night: 6pm-8pm, 8.15pm-10.15pm
